Project Change

Project Change is designed to Open doors, Remove barriers, and Create Community and serve as academic, emotional, and social support for student members. The program connects formerly incarcerated and system-impacted students to academic, personal and financial, professional, and wellness services at Skyline College as well as to community resources.

Project Change provides students with their own dedicated Counselor to assist you in your journey, a Program Service Coordinator (PSC) who works with students to provide student-orientated and relevant programs and services, and a Retention Specialist who helps students connect with appropriate resources for their success. In addition, the program ensures their voice is heard on campus and provides a social network of students, staff, and faculty who understand many of the experiences and concerns that system-impacted students have in their collegiate and life journeys.

Project Change also provides students with montly financial incentives and transportation assistance, as well as book support each semester, and more. Incarceration impacts more than just those who serve time in correctional facilities. Family, friends, and whole communities are often heavily affected when a student has been or is incarcerated. We encourage any student who has been justice-system impacted to apply to Project Change and become a part of our community of success.

Project Change is open to students currently enrolled at Skyline College, students who are at the Hillcrst Juvenile Hall, or are enrolled at one of our designated Continuation Schools. To apply to the program, complete application located at https://skylinecollege.edu/projectchange/apply.php
