The Bay Area Entrepreneur Center (BAEC)
The Bay Area Entrepreneur Center supports Skyline College students to launch new businesses and grow professionally through project based support to the local business community.
Let’s launch your business, together.
- Turn skills and passions into thriving businesses that meet the unique needs of their community.
- Our entrepreneurial start-up training provides simple, ready-to-use tools and resources that help you quickly master skills to launch a successful business, allowing you to concentrate on what you are best at, your service or product.
- We offer workshop series custom tailored to help launch beauty, wellness, and personal care; creative; and child care businesses.
Our Accelerate Fellowship gives students the entrepreneurial skills necessary to tackle real world problems and make positive change. We bring two cohorts a year to the local San Bruno business district to implement projects that help to activate the downtown.
Projects will be informed by community needs and will include topics such as business district marketing, facade improvement, bringing events to the downtown area, and implementing street scaping.
Through the fellowship, students develop communication and critical-thinking skills, along with policy, design, and project management through real-life, hands-on learning. The cohort structure gives students weekly time to practice complex decision-making, get active feedback from each other and practice creative problem solving in a collaborative setting. The local community benefits from student’s implementation of new projects.
