Academic Honor Society – Phi Theta Kappa

Beta Theta Omicron is the Skyline College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society for two year colleges. Beta Theta Omicron is both an International Distinguished Chapter and a Regional Distinguished Chapter. Members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible for the National Dean’s List, the All-USA and All-California Academic teams, and a wealth of scholarships to continue your community-college education and to transfer to four-year colleges and universities.

Membership is open to all Skyline College students who have completed 12 units at Skyline College with a GPA of 3.5 in degree-applicable courses. All members of Beta Theta Omicron are lifetime members of Phi Theta Kappa.

Members may participate in a variety of leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and service activities provided by Beta Theta Omicron. Additional information and applications are available at https://skylinecollege.edu/boo.

Psychology Honor Society ‐ Psi Beta

Psi Beta is a national honor society for students attending two-year colleges who are interested in the field of Psychology. The mission is to encourage professional development and psychological literacy by engaging in scholarship, leadership, research, and community service.

Benefits of Psi Beta membership include the opportunity to present research, use your Psi Beta membership as a reference throughout your lifetime, qualify for Psi Beta student scholarships, enter annual national award competitions, learn leadership skills, gain research experience, and meet professionals in the discipline. Students who have completed at least one Psychology class with a B or better, have completed 12 college units, and have an overall GPA of 3.25 are eligible for lifetime membership. Please note there is a one-time membership fee of $55.00.
