Course Description
The appropriate use of assessment and observation tools and strategies to document
young children’s
development and learning. Emphasizes use of findings to inform and plan learning environments
and
experiences. Students practice recording strategies, rating systems, portfolios, and
multiple assessment tools, along with opportunities to partner with families and professionals.
It is a required core course for the ECE certificate and AS degree.

Recommended: Eligibility for ENGL 100 or ENGL 105, or equivalent.
