Course Description

An introduction to technical theatre and the creation of scenic elements. Includes basic concepts and practice of set design, painting techniques, set construction, set movement, and prop construction. Includes backstage organization and exploration of technical theatre career possibilities. May include stage management, lighting, and/or sound techniques. May require practical application of skills during evening and/or weekend work on actual productions.
