Course Description
Extended practice and application of rhythmic, melodic and harmonic materials of Music
Theory I through ear training, sight singing, analysis, and dictation skills. Topics
include: tonality, meter, rhythmic and pitch notation, intervals, triads.

Prerequisites: MUS. 100 or MUS. 301 or MUS. 377 or MUS. 401 or equivalent. Students who already have
some music notation reading experience or who feel they meet the prerequisite through
prior experience (such as playing an instrument or singing in an ensemble) may bypass
the prerequisite by filing a prerequisite challenge petition (https://www.skylinecollege.edu/prerequisites/challengeprocess.php)
and passing a short quiz demonstrating basic music reading skills necessary for success
