Course Description
A historical and cultural survey of Filipinos in America from early settlements in
Louisiana, Hawaii and the West Coast to the present. Emphasis will be on a critical
evaluation of the main social, political, economic, cultural, intellectual and historical
trends that shaped the various Filipino communities in the United States.
