Program Overview

This program prepares students for licensing as an Esthetician in California. The Esthetics program requires 600 hours of comprehensive training in all facets of the Esthetics industry. Courses focus on theoretical foundation, practical manipulative skills, business knowledge, career development in the field, and the professional and ethical training needed for licensing through the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. Prepared with excellent entry-level and some advanced skills, students are able to work in many facets of the beauty industry.

Skyline College's Esthetics Program is approved by the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS: The Esthetics Certificate of Achievement requires the completion of a special application to be completed online. For further information on the Estshetics Program please visit the Barbering, Cosmetology & Esthetics program website.

ESTI 701 Esthetics Fundamentals I 6 units
ESTI 702 Esthetics Fundamentals ll 6 units
ESTI 703 Esthetics Intermediate Concepts l 6 units
ESTI 704 Esthetics Intermediate Concepts ll 6 units
ESTI 725 State Board Written Exam Preparation - Esthetics 3 units
Students can earn hours by taking the following: Units
COSM 747 Advanced Hair Removal 2 units
COSM 767 Eyelash Enhancements 1.5 units
ESTI 750 Esthetics Spa Workshop 1 unit

NOTE: Additional hours to meet the 600-hour state minimum may be earned by enrolling in BUS. 150 (Entrepreneurship - Small Business Management) and/or COSM 717 (Advanced Makeup) and/or COSM 747 (Advanced Skin Care and Hair Removal) and/or COSM 767 (Eyelash Enhancements).
