Program Learning Outcomes

Students completing this program will be able to:

Apply critical thinking and analytical skills in decision-making and problem-solving.
Understand and apply governmental accounting principles to prepare financial reports.
Prepare governmental budgets and perform the necessary steps for completing the governmental accounting cycle.
Understand the principles in accounting for not-for-profit organizations and how it differs from financial accounting.

Program Overview

The Accounting Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

The Accounting Clerk in Government Accounting Certificate prepares students for positions in governmental agencies and no for-profit organizations. The differences between Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) will be explored through the various courses.
