ADMJ 670 Criminal Justice Internship (Cooperative Education)

Course Description

Designed as an on-site experiential learning opportunity for advanced and qualifying Administration of Justice Program students who wish to apply their program skills and knowledge through a supervised paid work experience internship at an approved criminal justice (or justice related) agency. Enrollment and participation in this course is with the approval of the ADMJ Program Coordinator. Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen, have no felony convictions, possess a background history consistent with work in criminal justice, and ability to pass a background investigation to be conducted by the criminal justice agency. 300 hours of paid on-site work per semester required to achieve 4 units of credit. May be repeated for credit up to 16 units. This limitation applies to Occupational Cooperative Education work experience courses offered within the SMCCCD.

Prerequisites: ADMJ 100 and six units of any of the following ADMJ core courses: ADMJ 102, ADMJ 104, ADMJ 106, ADMJ 108, and ADMJ 110 (three of the six units may be met by concurrent enrollment).
