Course Description

A survey of Asian American literature will acquaint students with the distinct literary and aesthetic qualities and the personal and cultural concerns of American writers of Asian descent. Authors may include American authors with ancestry from China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Oceania, Vietnam, Burma, India, and other countries in Southeast and Western Asia, along with those who are Arab, Muslim, and Sikh. Material will be presented in a variety of literary genres.
