Course Description

This course assists early childhood professionals and parents in understanding and addressing children's challenging behaviors. The main areas of focus will be defining challenging behaviors, exploring prevention and intervention strategies, and understanding the behavioral planning process. The teaching pyramid will be presented as a model for promoting children’s social emotional development and preventing challenging behaviors. This course, along with ECE. 335, is required for a Master Teacher specialization, as noted in the Child Development Permit matrix.
